About Us
The Neuse Country Club is owned by longtime Clayton residents Jack and Shirley McDougall. The McDougalls finalized sole ownership of the Club on 12/31/2021. The Neuse Country Club incorporates the former Glen Laurel Pool and Neuse Golf Course in a Club for the residents of Clayton and the surrounding communities.
The vision for the Club is to establish a family-oriented country club to provide world-class golfing, a pristine pool, dining, member and guest events, a music venue, a private event venue, and recreational activities for the area. The owners and management team are constantly seeking the input of Club and community members to enhance the Club experience.
In December 2023, the Birdie Ballroom event venue opened adjacent to the Clubhouse providing a beautiful 6000 sq ft space for weddings, parties, and corporate events.
The owners have plans for additional improvements to the facilities and programs to enhance membership value. The Neuse Country Club has become a popular destination for members, guests, and area golfers.
Our Mission
The mission of the Neuse Country Club is to be the local center for excellent golf, pool activities, recreation for the whole family, dining options, and events for our members. We strive to provide safe, varied activities while maintaining an elevated level of professionalism and integrity. We will consistently bring the country club lifestyle to the Clayton Community.
